to be exact accton is a part of SMC

In 1997, SMC Networks became a subsidiary of Accton Technology
Corporation, who bought the rights to the SMC Networks name. Standard
Microsystems now goes by Standard Microsystems Corporation (SMSC).

indeed HP I believe ships some rebranded SMC switches... ;-)
