Intel unveils details on Nehalem-EX

http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/1137483/finally-solution-core-4tb-
ram-market

8 cores, 16 threads, 24MB cache, two- to eight-socket using QPI links, 4
memory controllers (instead of 3 for Nehalem-DP), and microbuffers on the
motherboard (no need for rDIMMs anymore). That makes 128 DIMMs per system on a
8S version, which would add up to a mere 4TB if populated with those 32GB
DIMMs we've heard about. No word yet about the memory
timings/frequency/pairing rules, though.

Oh, and Machine Check Architecture (MCA) is coming up to Nehalem-EX, too.

Cheers,
