[epic] epic broken in 2.4.3?

Hi all,

I am using a SMC 83C170QF based card which is working fine with twisted pair
(btw, did anyone succeed in using the optical interface of this card?).

After switching from 2.4.2 to 2.4.3, i get a 
  "Too much work at interrupt,"

message during boot. This doesn't prevent to DHCP server to reply with the 
correct IP, but the NIS server lookup and any other net related service fails 
with 2.4.3. Switching back to 2.4.2 made the problem to go away. Anybody else 
experiencing this problem?
