[eepro100] eth0 can't fill rx buffer problem

hello ,

I'm using eepro100 for intel 82559 ,Redhat 7.3 kernel 2.4.23 and I found the messge below :

Jul 19 14:39:36 MailDVR1 last message repeated 6 times
Jul 19 14:39:36 MailDVR1 kernel: eth0: can't fill rx buffer (force 0)!
Jul 19 14:39:36 MailDVR1 kernel: __alloc_pages: 0-order allocation failed (gfp=0x20/1)

I found some anwser about those message ,and I wonder to know could I use those instructions  "ifconfig eth0 down and ifconfig up " to fix the problem ?
or the only way is reboot ?
