You'll have to upgrade to a later fedora core after a while when support runs 
out, but pretty much a matter of taste. (technically it'll be as good as any)

The sata and/or raid controller will be a lot more critical to your linux 
experience than any choice of HDD.

That depends close to 100% on what you'll run on it.
