Pentium IV Xeon memory bandwidth. Any experience?

I don't think so. The Athlon prefetch is probably just SSE
instructions. You can get a couple of compilers that do that
optimization, the Intel compiler, and the PGI compiler. I've never
seen a prefetch have that much effect on stream.
