GNIC-II atop 2.2.12 panics NFSv3 server

I just installed it.  Note: for ASUS motherboards that have the 64/32
bit problem on reset (where force=1), you have to delete the "writeb"
line after the comment:  "Hmmm, do we really need to reset the
chip???.".

It works, but it's not performing as well under NFSv3 as a 100BaseT
tulip.  With 1 server and 1 client, I can get >7MBytes/sec NFS thruput,
with the GNIC-II, it's less than 6MBytes/sec.

Is there any way to increase the performance?
