Hamachi (GNIC II) cards discontinued by Alcatel (nee Packet Engines)

Just received a letter from Alcatel (new owner of Packet Engines) listing
the products they are discontinuing as of December 1, 1999. This list
includes all the GNIC II cards, and the letter specifically states "Please
note that no new gigabit Ethernet network interface cards ... are currently
planned as alternatives for the discontinued products." Of course, it also
says that now, as part of Alcatel, they're "able to provide you a broader
range of solutions than ever before". Unless, of course, you need a Gigabit
NIC...

I hope this doesn't mean that the Hamachi driver will never be completed
(although it's getting pretty stale as it stands...)
