[vortex] incorrect checksum ¿?

You could try first looking if this question was not asked before...

The program checks for checksums in the order of card generations and is 
normal for older generation checksum to fail on newer generation cards.
This is also normal for Tornado cards if this is what you have. 3Com seems 
to be inconsistent with the checksum that they put in the EEPROM of these 
cards. The 3c59x driver also used to print this message and there was a 
high number of people asking this same question here, so the printing of 
wrong checksum for Tornado was disabled.
