Winmodems can work excellent under linux. Host processing modems (which is a
better name) need nothing more than the right driver. IBM supports the host
processing modems on the thinkpad 600. (Which are also made by 3com) If this
is the same chipset as the A21p, you might be lucky. Have a peek at
http://linmodems.org/ for a pointer to the relevant IBM site.
