Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes. I couldn't find any reference to 3c905CX at 3Com's site. A Google
search brings back a page at Dell's support site, but they seem to use
3c905C and 3c905CX-TXM interchangeably:

Yes, I can confirm that. Unless I'm overlooking something extremely obvious
(downloaded their driver -> compiled it as they've specified in their README
-> insmod -> ifconfig as in my previous message), it simply fails at the
ifconfig stage with "SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such device" and the debug messages:

Out WaitTimer
Packet not picked up by the hardware
TestAdapter: Out with error
NICOpen: TestAdapter failed
NICOpen: Out with error

No. They only caused some register values to change (don't know if this
is significant), but still no link established.

Actually I don't remember why I did it like this. Without -t -p, it already
gives:

Index #1: Found a 3c905C Tornado 100baseTx adapter at 0xc000.

Can I send anything else?

Cheers,

Berkan

PS: Of course, I guess there is always the possibility that all 4 cards that
I bought are faulty in some way. Is there anybody else on the list who's
got a 3c905CX-TXM?
