3c905 with new kernels wont load certain web sites...

I agree that it *may* still in fact be name resolution. Recently I was
able to resolve hosts even when my ISP was having trouble with PPP
connections -- how? I was using a cacheing nameserver on my Debian
system. Hrmm. Can you ping your name server? Let's assume "yes" ...
then you should still re-check your hosts and resolv.conf files. If you
can connect to IP addresses but not names, it's *definitely* a name
resolving issue! (nslookup is your friend)

Now if everything else is in order ... it still sounds like a bona fide
networking setup problem rather than a driver problem ... ping etc. *does*
work, you say. Some other stuff doesn't. This can be an extremely
infuriating problem to solve, since there are so many little and simple
things that can go wrong. Check your IP masquerading/forwarding/firewall
settings, the associated kernel options, make sure your IP address(es) and
interfaces match up, and so on and so forth. You may get a lot more help
in a more appropriate forum where people deal with higher level networking
stuff.
