3C-905B error on ftp install & after hard drive install

I have been desperately trying to get this card to work. I was told
that somebody using the redhat distribution had been able to do an ftp
install. SO, I obtained the latest boot/supp images from redhat and
began the installation. Everything was smooth until I had to set up
my IP address. Regardless of whether I tried to manually set my IP
info or use DHCP I received the following error:
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Resource temporarily unavailable.
I am on a 10MB/sec LAN. Could the 10MB/sec and not 100 be the problem?

So - thinking that perhaps it wouldn't do an ftp install afterall, I
downloaded redhat 5.2 and installed from my hard drive. Regardless of
what I did (updating the kernel, getting the 3c59x driver and
compiling) I could not get the card to work for beans. Any help would
be appreciated and I'll be more than happy to supply any more
necessary info.

Thanks,

dpc
