Connection problem with version 0.99G

I installed version 0.99G because I experienced the
"3D-cold" bug.

This problems seems to be gone, but now I have problems with
the connection to the network.

- When starting up the network services I get the message

  do_ypcall: cntl_call: RPC: Timed out

several times, and the net step in the system start up is
delayed (noticeably with kernel 2.1.127, for minutes with
kernel 2.1.126). The same message appears times and again
  afterwards.

- When calling "ping" sometimes there is no response at all
(100% loss), somtimes the first response is immediate,
sometimes it is delayed, but there is always a significant
  packet loss (74% to 94 %).

Note 1: My PC is has 2 processors, and Linux was generated with
        SMP=1
Note 2: With version 0.99E there was no problem except for the
necessity to switch the PC off and on, when booting
        after shuting down WindowsNT.

Regards

Willy
