Hi

i have 2 cards from SMC each in 2 different computers and a 100mbps switch
both work fine well almost in Full Duplex 100mbps.

though there are 2 things.
they show up in /proc/pci as

Ethernet controller: Accton Technology Corporation EN-1216 Ethernet Adapter
(rev 17).
IRQ 10.
Master Capable. Latency=64. Min Gnt=255.Max Lat=255.
I/O at 0xe400 [0xe4ff].
Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xea400000 [0xea4003ff].

but thats not causing any problems i am aware of.
The big problem i am having is the number of overruns
currently it looks a bit like this

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:04:E2:1E:FE:B3
          inet addr:192.168.1.1 Bcast:255.255.255.0 Mask:255.255.255.0
          inet6 addr: fe80::204:e2ff:fe1e:feb3/10 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:1339805 errors:356 dropped:0 overruns:356 frame:356
          TX packets:1403114 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
          RX bytes:485550324 (463.0 Mb) TX bytes:767819780 (732.2 Mb)
          Interrupt:10 Base address:0xe400

i have not been stressing the connection much because i have not been home
but i can generate
up to 20-25% of the packets being counted in overruns.
this happens on both machine when they are idle (eg 90%) a P233 with 192MB
ram
and a cyrix P200 with 128MB of ram.

is there anything i can do to prevent these its a bit of a performance
loss. The dmesg shows its an ADMtek COMET if this is any help
apart from that they seem to work fine.

Linux Tulip driver version 0.9.15-pre9 (Nov 6, 2001)
PCI: Found IRQ 10 for device 00:09.0
eth0: ADMtek Comet rev 17 at 0xe400, 00:04:E2:1E:FE:B3, IRQ 10.

thanks
    James
