[tulip] Zoom 5001 support in Linux

Hi.  I saw the thread about the Zoom 5001 PCI cable modem at

but didn't really get a good feeling about it's support under Linux 2.4.
I looked for the changes that the patch in the above message included, but
couldn't find them in 2.4.18.  Would this device work adequately with
those patches applied to 2.4.18?  Other than treating it like a network
card, is there any other magic that needs to happen for it to connect my
machine to my cable service?  (I have an external cable modem that I may
replace.)
