[tulip] 21143 Problem

Hello,

we are using a 21143 based 100Base-FX card (Longshine), Kernel 2.4.0,
patched tulip.c (from 2.4.1-test10). There are performance problems with
TCP-based sessions, that seem to come from full-duplex / half-duplex
misbehavoir described earlier on the list. There is no way to put the card
in HDX, which was proposed as a solution here. Ifconfig reports transmit /
carrier errors for every packet. In debug level 5, the card reports:

eth1: interrupt csr5=0xf0670004 new csr5=0xf0660000
eth1: Transmit error, Tx status 7fffbc00
eth1: exiting interrupt, csr5=0xf0660000

Could the change in tulip.c 0.92t by Donald Becker (message from Mon Jan
15, Accton EN2242) be a solution for this? And, if yes, how can it be
integrated in 2.4.0-sources (a diff from 0.92s to 0.92t would be helpful)?

Thanks a lot for the help!

Greetings
Kai
