I'm having an odd problem with my LNE 100 TX Linsys card (details below).
It used to work fine, but I upgraded kernels (unfortunately, some other
things too so maybe I'm on the wrong track). Here is the problem. Anyone
with an ahah at reading them should tell me what they suspect.

Either the Redhat 6.2 (i386) tulip module or the most recent from the
scyld web site (as of yesterday) load without any problems. The network,
however, does not come up and while an /sbin/ifconfig indicates all is
well any attempt to ping a machine just hangs. I discovered that if I
issue a "/sbin/ifconfig eth0 -promisc" (which turns off promiscuous mode
even though it isn't on!) the adapter begins to work just fine. I
discovered this because I tried to use ntop to zero in on the problem and
the adapter began working.

Any ideas? Below are some details on system configuration:

lspci says:
00:09.0 Ethernet controller: Lite-On Communications Inc LNE100TX (rev 11)

a cat /proc/pci says:
Ethernet controller: LiteOn LNE100TX (rev 17).
Medium devsel. Fast back-to-back capable. IRQ 9. Master Capable.
Laten

      I/O at 0xd800 [0xd801].
      Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xffe6f800 [0xffe6f800].

/sbin/ifconfig says:

          inet addr:24.131.153.193 Bcast:24.131.153.255

Is there a reason for the stutter stutter?

Any help would be much appreciated!
