tulip.c v0.91 - 2.2.7-ac1 compile errors

I'm trying to compile v0.91 w/ Linux 2.2.7-ac1 on this box and I keep
getting this message when I compile:

debian:~# gcc -DMODULE -D__KERNEL__ -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O6 -c
tulip.c -DMODVERSIONS
tulip.c: In function `tulip_interrupt':
tulip.c:2540: `tpst' undeclared (first use this function)
tulip.c:2540: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
tulip.c:2540: for each function it appears in.)
debian:~#

This wouldn't be such a showstopper if I wasn't getting massive data
corruption on my Internal LAN (if I download a .ZIP to the box and then
open it via the network the CRC's are bad and such, .bz2 files are
broken when I transfer, etc.), which I think is related to my network
card being a lite-on chip with an old .89H driver. Anyone have any
ideas to fix this?
