KTI 100Mb/s PCI ethernet card

I hope that I'm posing this question on the right place, forgive me if
not.

The problem I encounter with my RedHat linux 5.0 kernel 2.0.32 is that
the PCI ethernet card (KTI 221TX/2) which is a 10/100 Mb/s card works
well with a 10Mb hub but connected to our Netgear 100Mb hub the led of
the hub does not show - no link. I tried changing the mode of the tulip
driver but it doesn't make any difference. The /var/log/messages shows
the following:

Oct 25 08:47:22 bugatti kernel: Probing PCI hardware.

I hope this provides extra information.

I am wondering if upgrading to a new version will help me out to make it
work at 100Mb.
