You are passing a debug parameter from somewhere in your setup.

Is the NIC a CardBus card, or a PCI implementation (mini-PCI or
built-in).

If CardBus, the module option is probably set in /etc/pcmcia/config or
/etc/pcmcia/config.opts.
If PCI, the module option is probably set /etc/modules.conf.
