[tulip-bug] Linksys LNE100TX

I've seen this problem a bunch of times - my LNE100TX apparently gets
recognized by tulip but i get no reply when pinging other machines on the
network.  I don't have a modem in this machine or another network card that
works with it so i can only get online with it in windows (through the lan).
A lot of people said upgrading tulip fixes the problem but i have kernel
2.4.1 which uses tulip 0.92, which other people have reported works. 
Unfortunately, my card still won't recieve a ping.  ifconfig says my card is
fine.  pinging the ip address of the machine (192.168.0.2) gets a response. 
the card works fine in windows.  if needed i can post dmesg and ifconfig and
pciscan outputs but they all return normal.  the linksys card is using a
pnic chip and the kernel says it's a Lite-On card...  i guess that's right.
