Problems with D-link DFE500TX on Linux

Hello!

I have installed the D-Link DFE-500TX (Rev C6) on a Pentium running Red Hat
Linux 5.0 (2.0.32).  Last night, the network suddently stopped working, and
I had to restart the computer.  I have noticed numerous copies of the
following in kernel log:

kernel: eth0: Oversized Ethernet frame spanned multiple buffers, status
0877c1b6!

The address after status is different.  I am using tulip.c v0.79 of the
driver by Donald Becker.  Anyone know what could be wrong?  I tried
upgrading to v.87, v.89 and v.90.  The kernel message stopped, but the
network still freezes after 2-4 hours of activity.  Any help is appreciated.
