Beowulf for HDTV application

Hi all,

I am new to Beowulf Cluster. I plan to implement Beowulf machine for HDTV 
application. Please kindly give me suggestion.

First,my sistem would be like this :

1. Master workstation with :

- Sony 24" triniton monitor which uses Diamond Viper V770D, 32MB
- Harddisk is 18 GB 
- Memory is 512 MB
- Dual-port Adaptec ultra-wide-SCSI adapter
- 10/100 BT Ethernet
- Dual processor Pentium III Xeon 550 MHz

2. Slave clusters with :

- Pentium III 450 MHz processor
- 384 MB RAM

3. Switch
Myrinet switch

Please help me to answer my questions :
1. I still confusing about the differences between Beowulf and COW. Could 
anyone help me ? What is the main differences between Beowulf and COW ?
I have already have 8 Pentium II clusters that is used not only for 
parallel processing (just like COW). Could I integrated it with Beowulf 
(6 Pentium III integrated with 8 Pentium II) ? (how about the load balancing)

2. Which software should I use PVM or MPI ?


Sorry if this is a mind-blowingly dumb question, but I thought I might 
save a lot of time.
