where to shop for alphas?

hello,

could anyone suggest some places to look for alphas and parts? aside from
calling compaq and asking their sales staff?  is there a cheaper route,
such as using clone motherboards and assembling parts?

we are thinking about purchasing and assembling few intel computers and a
few alpha computers for comparison purposes, before making a slightly
larger purchase.  while we have located vendors and ways to compare prices
for intel parts, alpha parts seem more difficult to locate in the same
manner. any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
