Beginners's Beowulf question

This is a Linux question, and not really a Beowulf question. Sure,
clusters use ethernet adapters, but there are other mailing lists and
newsgroups where you can probably find much better answers to your
question.

Second, you would probably get more help if you mentioned what kind of
card it is. From your description I have no idea; it's not a tulip or
3com, that's for sure.
