2.2.9, system map

It's a fact that as soon as you recompile the kernel you have to replace
/boot/System.map with the one in /usr/src/linux. System.map is a textfile
wich describes all kernelfunctions and where they are. If you use a static
kernel
it's ok to skip /boot/System.map although one might get some errors at
startup but things compiled into the kernel will work. Things might break
also when compiling programs that require some info about the kernel, what
is implemented and such things.
