Gigabit Ethernet drivers

It's Intel: they don't release programming information without a long
process.  I understand that these card are inexpensive (errrm, on the
gigabit scale) -- is that true?

3Com is selling someone else's board and thus does not have programming
info.  Likely it's an Alteon board.
