I second the tulip endorsement, but note that the eepro100 from Intel is
a decent card and works well on high speed/high power and SMP systems
(although it is a bit more expensive than some of the tulips).  If you
get a motherboard with eepro100 onboard (Intel makes several) it works
fine, don't worry.
