Have you looked at DPT's controllers? I don't have performance numbers,
but I am currently running RAID-5 using a 2144UWR with RedHat 5.0.

		Vortex has Linux drivers for 2.0.x and 2.1.x Linux
kernels (I've tried
		both, and both work). They can be seen at:

		http://www.icp-vortex.com/

		Using RAID-0 I've been able to get 20MBytes/sec write
performance
		(with a "dd of=/dev/sda if=/dev/zero bs=65536
count=65536").  RAID-5,
		I get under 10MBytes/sec. Read times are faster.

		They have a configuration tool called gdtmon, and a
version that works
		in Linux. But, their scsi bios requires a video card
(no headless
		operation).
