Hi,

I've got two D-Link DFE-538TX's I planned to use in my LRP 2.9.8-based
router, running a 2.2.19-1 kernel.

Similar to a lot of earlier messages on this list (I scanned the last few
months, only) I have problems with insmod. It says:

Device or resource busy.

I've tried switching PCI slots, PnP support on/off in BIOS, manual
and automatic assignment of IRQ to the PCI slot, etc.

When I only have one NIC installed (only card in the machine except
an AGP card), I get the following from /proc/...

/proc/pci:
PCI devices found:
....
  Bus 0, device 12, function 0:
Ethernet controller: Unknown vendor Unknown device (rev 16).
      Vendor id=1186. Device id=1300.
Medium devsel. Fast back-to-back capable. IRQ 5. Master Capable.
Latency=64.  Min Gnt=32.Max Lat=64.
      I/O at 0xe400 [0xe401].
      Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xea000000 [0xea000000].
....

the rtl8139-diag program segfaults. It was compiled on another system,
with a 2.4.x kernel, as my LRP setup does not have (g)cc installed..
Hence I cannot verify the card settings (would have installed the card
in a different machine, but do not have one that I can take off production
for this test..)

Questions:

* Has anybody got this card working with a LRP 2.9.8 installation?

* Has anybody got a diagnostic program compiled on a 2.2.19 kernel?
(don't know if it helps any, but willing to try anyway)

Any other information/hints welcome..

BR,
/Leif K.
