what is this updated driver list mentioned in your compiling into the =
kernel section?=20
BTW I'm on a Slack 3.1 distro with patched (other stuff) 2.2.18 kernel =
source. I'm currently using driver version :
kernel: rtl8139.c:v1.07 5/6/99
which is compiled into the kernel...since I allready have rtl8139 =
support does this mean i could recompile the module and copy over the =
old 1.07 in my kernel src dir...does the same go for the pci drivers?

Maybe a canned response to:
How do I upgrade my rtl8139 drivers to the latest rev in 2.2.x?
BTW 2.2.18 provides support for both yours and the 8139too

For some background I'm having odd connectivity problems with my on =
board RealTek nic, and 2.4.0 would consitently panic when the nic was =
under load. The only clues I have are entries in the debug log that read =
something like 0x00011 and 0x00051 sprry for the vagueness I've been =
rushing through my troubleshooting. Anyways the 2.2.18 and 1.07 driver =
dont crash but still act odd...

sorry for the length=20
thanks in advance
David
