[eepro100] scavenge ??

We tried to install an Intel EEPro100B network card on a RedHat 6.2
(i386) system, but encountered quite some problems. Module loading is
ok, the card is recognized and the subsequent tests are passed. Using
the network though, is not possible. When the debug level is high
enough, syslogd dumps a lot of messages containing "scavenge candidate",
and it keeps dumping it as long the system is up. (I can't find the log
right now, I will post it if needed.)

The card should be ok, because I quickly tested it at home in RedHat
Linux 6.1, using a older eepro100 driver without any problems.

The eepro100.c version in RedHat 6.2:

eepro100.c: $Revision: 1.33 $ 2000/05/24

In RedHat 6.1:

eepro100.c:v1.06 10/16/98 Donald Becker

Can this be a hardware conflict? Or is there something else I'm missing?

Thank you for any help you can give.

Tung
