eepro100 wows

I spent most of last night working this out out myself. I'd asked Donald
exactly the same question a day or so ago. Mailed him an answer last
night. Same Motherboard, same interface card.

Here's my solution (it works for me):

  *) Upgrade the BIOS <http://www.tyan.com/html/body_tiger_100_bios.html>
to 1.07. I used the 'file called amiboot.rom on a floppy and hold down
some keys while powering the machine on' method - worked great for me.
Look in the back of the motherboard manual for details of how to do this.

*) make sure that the 'pnp aware os' bios setting is set to 'no'. (This
is in the documentation).

The bios upgrade also fixed a couple of other things (floppy disk not
working properly under linux and ide dma not working properly under linux)
for me as well. Bonus points for tyan.

This should be all that you need to do. I also added the redhat 5.1
updates <ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/redhat-5.1/updates/i386> for the
2.0.35 kernle. This comes with 0.99B release of the driver - not the
newest, but it's working for me. I'll try 1.02 a little later.

My card is now working. Before yesterday it was display exactly the same
message as yours.

PS: If this works for you too, maybe there could be a faq entry for the
tyan board with a eepro interface card ?
