I suspect you'd take more of a penalty when doing the IB fabric
initialisation and then at wire-up of connections, once that's done it's
probably just a quick decision to decide which port to use for data
transfers.  So yes, maybe slightly slower (assuming the code has some
fast path that is used when there is only a single connection to use)
but I'd have thought likely not significant.
