The sustem you suggested is GigE connected - same can be don't with the servers....
There is more cost effective 20G InfinBand solutions as well. So can chose among veraity of solutions.

Or you could pay around $8,000 and get one of Doug's Limulus clusters in a PC case, ready built, with an HPL of 444GF and Haswell CPUs.
That's ~3 times faster than my previous gigs first supercomputer, a Compaq AlphaServer SC40 that was #150 on the Top500 in June 2001. :-)
