I think the rule to be learned is that people always extrapolate from their personal experiences, instead of asking other people questions. I had to laugh about the "system programmers use vi" comment. And resource usage? Eight MEGABYTES And Constantly Swapping, yeah, that's big. On my system emacs and vim are about the same size at startup. -- greg
