On a related, yet more serious note: Would something like this: http://www.killernic.com/KillerNic/ Be applicable to beowulf? Could the onboard Linux system help to prioritize MPI traffic? Or is it kind of pointless when you can just buy extra NICs for $10 - instead of $200 for one of these babies - to use for non-MPI traffic?
