[Beowulf] Good 1 Gbit switches - which ones?

i'd recommend the Nortel BayStack 5510 series:

http://www.nortelnetworks.com/products/02/bstk/switches/baystack_5510/index.html

it supports 160 Gbps in one switch, 1280 Gbps when eight (8) switches are
stacked together. in small cluster implementations you can 'stack' two
cabinets together, one in each cabinet, using their 3' cables if the
cabinets are placed next to each other. in large implementations you can
use a combo of this two cabinet stack along w/ a four port trunk upto a
master switch.
