Recently I've noticed an increase in marginal RJ45 sockets.... Can you get things to work by 'wiggling' the the connector in the socket (as opposed to entirely removing and then replacing it)? Hope this doesn't help (because replacing onboards is.......... I don't even want to think about it :) Cheers, John Brookes Quadrics T: +44 (0)117 9155500 F: +44 (0)117 9075395 E: johnb at quadrics.com W3: www.quadrics.com > -----Original Message----- > From: Donald Becker [mailto:becker at scyld.com] > Sent: 01 October 2002 21:41 > To: Yudong Tian > Cc: Beowulf (E-mail) > Subject: RE: Weird network connection problem > > > On Tue, 1 Oct 2002, Yudong Tian wrote: > > > > > We've got 200 nodes running, with each node having a > > > Biostar MB with a > > > > built-in Realtek 8192 > > > > NIC chip, and running RH 7.2, 2.4-17. > > > > > > Which driver, including version number, are you running? > > > > To be precise, the kernel is 2.4.7-10, the driver is > > the default 8139too.o.
