Ruhiya, Could you provide a little more information about your setup. What distribution are you using (it sounds like Scyld?). What do you mean by "connecting" - What command did you actually type to get the output? Try typing "/sbin/ifconfig". Is eth1 present? What network cards are you using. Have they been tested in any other way? My guess is that your network configuration hasn't been properly setup. Check some of the networking HOWTOs on the linux documentation project (http://www.linuxdoc.org). Good luck, Vann USNA Computer Science On Mon, 2002-01-28 at 15:58, ruhiya mahalati wrote: > > Hi, > > I have installed the beowulf master node (100 MB for nodes and 10 MB for internet) and right now i am trying to connect a slave to the master with the help of a dual speed hub DS108. > > but i get the following error message: > > Executing beowulf start > SIOCSIFADDR : no such device > eth1: unknown interface: no such device > SIOCSIFNETMASK : no such device > > any help would be highly appreciated. > Thanks, > ruhiya > > _______________________________________________ > Beowulf mailing list, Beowulf at beowulf.org > To change your subscription (digest mode or unsubscribe) visit http://www.beowulf.org/mailman/listinfo/beowulf
