We've done PXE booting using Peter Anvin's SYSLINUX for PXE as the bootstrapper. If you run 'beoboot -2 -i -o /tmp/foofoo' or similar, the beoboot tool will spit out separate kernel and initrd images which you can then supply to SYSLINUX.
