Take a look at: http://www.mpi-forum.org/docs/docs.html and http://www.mpi-forum.org/docs/mpi-20-html/mpi2-report.html I use LAM (another implementation), not MPICH, so I don't know what version of the standard uses MPICH (C++ vary between them).
