Ethernet latency with newer PCI bus NICs

I remember that it was suggested a while back (by Greg Lindahl I think!) that newer PCI-X bus based NICs would be soon available which significantly reduce the latency involved with Fast Ethernet NICs - Are these available now, and does anyone have NetPipe/Perf or other comparative results on the latency changes using the newer bus ?
