MPI, PVM or PVFS???????

I'm trying to build a beowulf cluster for numerical simulation purposes, I've got 7 nodes with 2 pentiums III each one, SCSI hard disks, and 256Mb of RAM (Master node got 512Mb of RAM) on a 3COM fast ethernet switch. I've configured NFS and NIS under RedHat Linux 7.0 as a private network for the moment. Now, my question is: what interface such MPI or PVM do I need?
