You mean the OSCAR CD, for which Tim is one of the organizers?

No, I think that the MS CD is the natural result of Microsoft's
collaboration with the Cornell Theory Center, which has been doing
Windows clustering for quite a while now. Even if it was an answer to
OSCAR, who cares?
