> results at www.sfu.ca/~siegert/nic-test.html. very interesting result - thanks! it's worth noting that the rtl8139 has seen a continual stream of fixes that have noticably improved its stability and performance. actually, the same goes for 3c59x, tulip and eepro100 - it would be quite interesting to see a comparison with modern kernels (2.4). especially because some of these drivers (and gigE ones) are seeing a lot of attention just now as a side-effect of the zero-copy effort. it'll also be very interesting to see how the zero-copy stuff effects cluster performance... regards, mark hahn.
