Hi I was browsing the 3com website for Gbit nics. I'm looking for a Gbit NIC that will do PXE, so that basically means 3com. Does anybody know what is the difference between the 3com server nics and desktop nics? Both types adhere to IEEE standards, and both are supported under Linux. Why is the server card 5 times more expensive? Did people compare these cards in a beowulf/cluster setup? -- Groeten, David. ________________________________________________________________________ Dr. David van der Spoel, Biomedical center, Dept. of Biochemistry Husargatan 3, Box 576, 75123 Uppsala, Sweden phone: 46 18 471 4205 fax: 46 18 511 755 spoel at xray.bmc.uu.se spoel at gromacs.org http://zorn.bmc.uu.se/~spoel ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
