I would be interested in some information on the subject of benchmarking 
(souce code for tools is nice also ;-)

Do you mean published results of existing benchmarks or how to go about
benchmarking yourself?  I don't have a Xeon handy so I've never run a
suite of benchmarks on one, but I have all sorts of information on
benchmarking and how to go about it, including the beginning of a site
collecting various benchmark tools (and links to tools).  If you want
the latter, let me know.
