Check recent issues of Linux Journal. I recall seeing a vendor with boards up to 8 channels of UDMA, though it was a raid solution. They were also at Linux World earlier this year. And dang it, I can't remember the name :( -- Dean Carpenter Principal Architect Purdue Pharma dean.carpenter at pharma.com deano at areyes.com 94TT :) -----Original Message----- From: Stephen Johnston [mailto:sjohnsto at eso.org] Sent: Wednesday, April 04, 2001 10:16 AM To: Beowulf List Subject: UDMA Cards and HD CRC Checks Hi I need to select a multi-port (8) UDMA UltraATA board for a set of disks attached to each node of a Beowulf, and then write something to get the CRC periodically to check integrity (we will not be using RAID for various reasons) amoung other checks. I have been looking at 'hdparm'. Can anyone suggest a good board for this, and tell me where to look re getting CRC info out of a disk (aka md raid like commands) TIA, I will summarise Stephen.
